Hubert de Givenchy

Today i am going to introduce one of my favourite designers-
Hubert de Givenchy
He is famous for having designed much of the personal andprofessional wardrobe
of Audrey Hepburn, later she became the most prominent proponent of Givenchy's fashion.
Givenchy met in 1953 during the shoot of her,
He went on to design almost all the wardrobe worn by her in her movies. He also developed his first perfume collection for her .

Givenchy is a French brand of Hubert de Givenchy which started in 1952,which includes fashion appearal, accessories, perfumes and cosmetics.

Old Givenchy

Audrey Hepburn

This portrait of the always-fashionable Audrey Hepburn, wearing an Edwardian bowler of brushed Melusine by Hubert de Givenchy, appeared in the August 15, 1964, Vogue. Although hats can beautifully emphasize, and even exaggerate, one's features—as seen here—they quickly fell out of fashion during this time. Photograph by Cecil Beaton.

Strapless Givenchy Swimsuit

John Rawlings turns to the beach in this photograph, which appeared in the July 1, 1953, Vogue. The blissful model wears a dark brown strapless bathing suit by Givenchy. The mix of chestnut, orange, sand, and turquoise hues make this shot especially vibrant, creating a desire for escapism that this work affords the viewer.

Munich Olympic Fashion II

In this fashion photograph taken at Munich's Olympic Games site, a model poses as four athletes look on—and demonstrate their prowess—in the background. She wears a short-sleeve ribbed sweater and belted polka-dot silk skirt by Givenchy. The photograph, by Henry Clarke, appeared in the May 1, 1972, Vogue.

Givenchy Sheath & Accessories

A well-dressed model poses in front of a building, presumably in Paris, for this Henry Clarke photograph. She wears a short-sleeve sheath dress with a high button collar, long gloves, and a hat and carries a handbag, all by Givenchy. This supremely elegant portrait appeared in the September 1, 1955, Vogue.

Gloria Swanson

Gloria Swanson, one of the biggest stars of the early film era, started out in silent movies before breaking into the talkies. Swanson helped shape the image of the Hollywood celebrity by wearing clothes designed by Chanel and Givenchy and having her portrait taken by the world's greatest photographers. Some of her best-loved films include 'Sadie Thompson,' 'The Trespasser,' and 'Sunset Boulevard.' Here, she appears in 'The Wages of Virtue.' Photograph by Edward Steichen in the November 1924 Vanity Fair.

Suzy Parker in Givenchy

John Rawlings turns his attention to model Suzy Parker in this photograph, which appeared in the October 15, 1953, Vogue. She wears Givenchy's Chinese swinging lacquer-print full skirt, complete with a layered lace petticoat and quilted satin jacket. The marbled background beautifully complements her attire, and her deliberate pose gives this work a painterly feeling.
